A small checklist for fast, accessible marketing sites
Ten checks we run on every site before launch. None of them need a big budget, and most take minutes.

Fast and accessible are usually treated as polish for later. In our experience they are the cheapest quality wins on any project, as long as you check early.
Speed
- Serve images in modern formats and at the size they are displayed.
- Load only the fonts and weights you actually use.
- Keep third-party scripts to a minimum, and load them late.
Accessibility
- Every image has meaningful alt text, or empty alt if it is decorative.
- Text contrast is high enough to read in sunlight.
- The whole site works with a keyboard alone. Try pressing Tab through the homepage.
- Motion respects the reduce motion setting.
Search and sharing
| Check | Why it matters |
|---|---|
| Unique page titles | Clear results in search |
| Descriptions under 160 characters | Not cut off in snippets |
| A share image | Links look good in chat apps |
Run through this list once per release. It takes under an hour, and your users will notice.
